Stonepine Equestrian Center’s illustrious past dates back to the early 1930s. It was called the “Double H Ranch” and considered the foremost thoroughbred breeding farm west of the Mississippi. Though no longer a thoroughbred breeding facility, Stonepine remains a world-class equestrian center and private escape for both local horse owners and guests of Double H Ranch B&B.
Established by Henry Potter Russell, a founder and first president of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association in 1937, the ranch was a whistle-stop to some of the world’s finest horses.
